Jared Carney is the Vice Chair of McKinley’s Board of Directors. In this role, Jared is actively involved in the firm’s strategic planning and financial management. Jared is the founder and owner of Lightdale, a global holding and strategic advisory firm. This was the natural evolution of a career spent building companies and relentlessly forging partnerships with business leaders, influential philanthropists, and government officials across the globe. Prior to Lightdale, Jared served as Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer at the Milken Institute working closely with its Chairman, Michael Milken. Before joining the Institute, Jared was a pioneer in the Internet/high-tech, and media industries where he successfully founded, launched, or helped build disruptive companies and technologies which he helped steer to successful exits. Jared sits on a number of boards, including the Arctic Circle, was the co-founder of the Arctic Maritime Exchange, and founded the California Fund. He is a shareholder in McKinley Management, Inc. and Alaska Cargo and Cold Storage.
